How do you obtain a Special VFR (SVFR) clearance?

To obtain a Special VFR clearance, you must request it from Air Traffic Control (ATC). This clearance allows you to fly in controlled airspace with less than standard VFR weather minimums, but only from sunrise to sunset, unless you are rated and equipped for night flying.
